Rules:
General Conduct
1. Any player or coach throwing equipment in anger is subject
to ejection from the game at the discretion of the umpire.
2. Managers shall be responsible for their players, coaches, and fans. The
umpire shall be instructed to warn the manager one time concerning abuse
from any of the above. If not controlled, the game could be forfeited to
the opposing team.
3. Obscene and or abusive language will not be tolerated. Any violation
of this will result in the removal from the field/stands by the head umpire,
or if necessary, by the proper authorities.
4. Any coach who disputes or argues with an umpire over a call will be ejected
from the game. Managers may not dispute a judgment call.
Good sportsmanship is an integral part of total teamwork!
Official Little League rules and regulations will apply
with the following exceptions:
1. A maximum of 15 players, one manager, 2 coaches, and 1 scorekeeper/coach
on the roster will be allowed in or near the bench area.
2. Age of players: Players 7 and 8 years of age are eligible provided they
will not turn 9 by August 1 of this tournament year.
3. Rosters must be presented before the first game and may not be changed
after presentation to the tournament committee.
4. All players are required to wear uniforms. All shirts must have numbers
on the back. Absolutely no jewelry may be worn with the exception of medical
alert tags. All shoes must be tied and no metal spikes are permitted. The
catcher must wear a mask and chest protector. The catcher should also wear
an athletic supporter and cup.
5. All games will be 6 innings. After five full innings the 10 run rule
is in effect (except for the championship game).
6. If there is a delay due to inclement weather, you may not take your team
home until the tournament committee gives official notice.
7. Each team must have at least 9 players to start a game. If a player is
injured in the course of a game the team may play with eight players to
finish the game. You must have a catcher at all times.
8. Defensive team is to field ten (10) players. The positions are: pitcher,
catcher, 1st, 2nd, 3rd bases, shortstop, left fielder, left-center fielder,
right-center fielder and right fielder.
9. The pitchers' position must stand within six (6) feet of the pitcher/coach.
The pitcher position cannot stand closer to the batter than 36 feet. The
pitcher-player must have one foot inside the circle.
10. Forfeiture is fifteen minutes after the scheduled starting time unless
approved by the tournament committee. The opposing manager will be notified
of a later time.
11. Only adult coaches (17 years of age or older) can coach the bases.
12. Each team is allowed two timeouts per GAME.
13. The pitching distance will be 36 feet from the back of home plate. A
manager or coach will pitch overhand to their teams. If a batted ball hits
the manager or the manager interferes with a fielder, batter or runner,
the ball is dead and the batter returns to bat. The pitch is treated as
no pitch.
14. The pitcher must make every attempt not to interfere with the play.
If the pitcher intentionally interferes with the play the batter will be
called out and no runners can advance.
15. All teams will bat the bench. The batting order cannot be changed once
the game begins unless there is an injured player.
16. A batter will get 7 pitches. A batter must swing on the 7th pitch or
be called out. As long as contact is made (foul ball), the batter will get
another pitch. A batter will be called out after 3 strikes when the third
strike is a swing and miss.
17. There will be no walks or awards to 1st base due to a batter being hit
by a pitch.
18. There will be free substitution.
19. No bunting will be allowed
20. Batting helmets must be worn while running and batting.
21. Ground rules will be discussed before the start of the game. Ground
rules must stay consistent.
22. There are no appeals. The Umpire is in charge and will call the game
as he/she sees the play.
23. The tournament committee will oversee each game. They will have final
word on all discussions concerning the rules, game times, and time changes
for all games played. Any team who disputes this rule will be subject to
forfeiture of their remaining games.
24. The base distance will be 60 feet.
25. The infield fly rule will not be in effect.
26. Base runners must remain on the bag until the batter makes contact with
the ball. Teams will receive one warning if a runner is caught leaving the
base early. After that, runners leaving the base early will be called out.
27. When 5 runs are scored in the offensive teams half of the inning, the
offensive team automatically takes the field regardless of the number of
outs. The inning shall not end, however until play has stopped. All runs
resulting from that play shall be counted. The 5-run rule is waived in the
final inning for both teams.
Example: The offensive team has scored 4 runs in the current inning and
the bases are loaded. The batter, after hitting the ball, stops at second
base. When the play has ended all the other base runners have crossed home
plate. The offensive team would be entitled to 7 runs that inning.
28. Play will stop when the pitcher player has control of the ball and is
inside the pitching circle. Runners past the 3/4 line (45 Feet) will be
awarded the next base. This call will be made at the umpire's discretion.
29. No rover is allowed. Outfielders must play at least 20 feet behind the
infielders.
30. Any player who throws the bat will be warned along with the rest of
the team. The next player from that team who throws the bat will be called
out (no base runners may advance). All additional violations will also be
called out. No base runners will advance.
31. Aluminum bats are mandatory. All bats must be official little league
bats.
32. Any team can challenge any player from another team about their age.
If the player is challenged, their manager must present the players birth
certificate before the next scheduled game, to the tournament committee.
If the player is found ineligible, the games their team has won will be
forfeited and disqualified from further tournament play.
33. No deliberate colliding with another player. If a fielder is blocking
the runner's path (without having the ball), the runner is entitled to the
base rather than pushing the defender away. However, if the fielder is making
the play on the ball, the runner must avoid the fielder. If the runner interferes
with the fielder, the batter is out and all runner(s) must return to his/her
original base.
34. A runner must make every effort to slide or avoid contact while running
the bases. Runners are not out if they do not slide. All slides must be
feet first.
35. No infielder can be more than 4 feet in front of the baseline.
36. The coach-pitcher cannot tell a batter whether or not to swing at a
pitch.
37. One coach is permitted in foul territory down each baseline in the outfield
to help instruct his players on defense.
